On 21 – 23th of January 2009 charity foundation “AYALA” delivered phototherapy devices.to all maternity hospitals and children hospitals of Almaty city.

The first 13 phototherapeutic apparatuses from 32 were transferred to urban Perinatal center here as elsewhere then foundation members were warmly thanked by doctors, the administration of hospitals, the heads and staff of the health department of the city.

These devices are designed for phototherapy treatment of jaundice in newborns. Even with severe forms of jaundice phototherapy can treat without medication or significantly reduce the drug load on the tiny patients. The first step was the installation of such devices in maternity hospitals and children hospitals. Later we plan to equip with “Healing lights” all child welfare clinics of the city.

This aid – is contribution to the future of intellectual development of children because in the list of threats that can damage the brains of infants postnatal jaundice is one of the first illnesses.

Funds for the purchase of these devices were collected for a few months with many organizations and just good people.
