The project  of the Association of charitable funds on the development of pediatric cardiac surgery in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which began in 2008, is completed. Under this project, charitable organizations of Almatycity had made a lot of important affairs.

At first, all Kazakhstani people today know about pediatric surgery problem. Medics raised question about poor state of pediatric cardiac surgery, particularly about problem of children under 10 kg weight.

Secondly, the project "I want to live" gave opportunity to pass specialization (specific job preparation) for the medical team of the National Scientific Center of Surgery (NSCS) named after Syzganov in cardiac clinics of Italy, and Russia (more http://www.ayala.kz/news_ru/news_one.php?id=437, http://www.ayala.kz/news_ru/news_one.php?id=442).

Thirdly, NSCS got the medical equipment to conduct operations for children with congenital heart disease (CHD) and to diagnose this disease in newborns. Since 2009 in NSCS, have begun operation on children with congenital underweight 10 kg, before this kind of surgery was made very rare.

At the end of the project "I want to live" our fund transferred to NSCS sensor for ultrasonic diagnosis of CHD. This sensor allows more accurate diagnosis of congenital heart disease, and thus more accurately plan the scope and method of surgical treatment.

All charitable organizations, which participated in the project "I want to live," believe that the greatest achievement of them is to draw our country community and the state bodies’ attention to the problem of pediatric cardiac surgery. There are two specialized pediatric cardiac surgery department in the major medical centers in Astana and Almaty was open or going to open soon. The project "I want to live" has become a good example of effective interaction of state with noncommercial organizations.
