15-02-2008  YOUNG ARCHITECTS

Even not knowing the meaning of the word "architecture", children are fascinated about building from an early age; the dig tunnels, erect walls from sand, build towers. And, by the way, having fun is the excellent adding to the complex of developing exercises, especially for children with neurological problems.

On February, 15, 2008 in children's sanatorium ?2 of Almaty city, where children with neurological disorders are treated, a competition was held for the award of "The Best Designer". the competition. Each had its name, identification mark and even, as it is usual for any team - a captain. Young architects were given only 15 minutes to build a "Dream Zoo".

A senior educator signaled a start of the competition. Children at once began to collect a maccano, to construct something. It`s a difficult task even for an adult, not to mention children. But not for our babies who pulled together and worked in a team. Item after an item a mini zoo appeared in front of an audience and guests from the “AYALA” fund.

Every work was presented by the team`s captain who described the architectural ensemble. Poems sounded in the built zoos. Not a single child remained without a gift. The benevolent fund gave presents to all children "designers".

A quite unusual competition proved once again that children's fantasy is boundless. And such diagnosis as child's cerebral paralysis will not prevent embodiment of this fantasy.
