A preparation to New Year in Almaty is well underway! Last Friday the citizens and guests of city visited a charity fair to buy an exclusive gift to themselves and their relatives. The event was organized by “Chevron” company and charity foundation “AYALA”.
At one place the representatives of five Almaty special boarding schools, regional orphanage #1, federation of clubs UNESCO and also Kazakhstan’s craftsmen and participants of the laboratory “Zhastar Armany” of children’s library named after S. Begalin gathered together. All together they presented more than 300 crafts, toys and handmade jewelry. More than 150 crafts of these works belong to the pupils of the following boarding schools: #1 for children with hearing disorders, #4 named after N. Ostrovsky for blind children and children with weak vision, #9 for children with serious speech disorders, #6 and #7 for children with intellectual development disorders.
Besides the point, the range was wide and after an hour several shop stands became empty. There were businessmen, journalists and all those people, who appreciate “handmade” works among the customers. Among presented works there were vases made from glass balls, beaded necklaces, unique toys in the form of snowmen, pillows in the form of tortoises and hippos and many other things. The average cost of the exclusive goods varied in the range of 2000-5000 tenge.
Referring to the words of Galina Zhernovykh the handicraft teachers of special (correctional) boarding school #6 for children with intellectual development disorders together with their pupils began to prepare to this charity bazaar in spring. For instance, Nargiz Khuseinova demonstrated her sincere hard work and made even five works. Let us note that some children, the authors of craft works, gave master classes right at the fair. The pupils of boarding school #4 Nisonova Mariya and Nysanova Zhanyl have shown their skills in creating unique bread bins.
The pupils of the regional orphanage #1 who passed professional orientation test developed on the basis of the project of “Chevron” company “My future career” baked Christmas gingerbread and put their hearts and skills they obtained in the course of this project. The other various works were also presented. These were toys and works made in the Kazakh national style from the non-governmental organization “Aynalayin” and Union of craft workers of Kazakhstan and also the pictures of the participants of the Children’s ecological picture Contest implemented by “Chevron” company together with the Kazakhstan’s federation of clubs UNESCO since 2002.
