A mean policeman, a powerful king, a charming ladybug – where else is it possible to meet so many fairytale heroes in one place? It is possible only in the cinema “Arman” and, certainly, on New Year’s Eve. “AYALA” foundation and sponsors fulfilled the dreams of hundreds of Almaty children. One month to go before the major New Year fest the children had written letters with wishes to Santa Claus. This year the envelopes with the children’s wishes were hung on the Christmas trees set in Saks Fifth Avenue, in the offices of Oriflame, ADDCapital companies and Halyk bank. Anyone who feels like it, could choose the envelope, read the letter and put money inside for a child’s present.
The girls, in general, asked for dolls. But among them there was one girl who wanted to have a lorry. The boys dreamt of professional sets of a doctor, a cook, a young painter. Besides, of course, the children were given traditional presents, too, such as skates, sledges, mobile telephones. It should be noticed that the postcards with the wishes within the frameworks of “AYALA” foundation’s project “A letter to Santa Claus” were written by 301 children. They were pupils from the boarding schools #9 (for children with serious speech disorders) and #10 (for children from needy families), specialized complex “Zhanuya”, Almaty orphanage #1 and pupils of correctional class of the secondary school #133.
