The boarding school No. 15 for children from low-income families of Almaty region celebrated World Bread Day with AYALA Charity Foundation. The day was established in 2006 on the initiative of the International Union of Bakers and Confectioners and is celebrated annually on October 16. On this day, exhibitions and fairs of bakery products are held all over the world, and bread is usually given to people in need. Bakers conduct master classes and share their professional secrets.
AYALA Charity Foundation did not stay away from this holiday. Vice-President of the Foundation Zhangeldy Sarsenov and a cook with 58 years of experience Svetlana Viktorovna Belykh conducted a master class for ninth-graders.
Zhangeldy introduced the children to the rules of handling a modern bread maсhine. The children learned about safety and nuances of making bread. The teenagers watched with interest the process of laying products into the bowl of the device and its programming for golden brown and fluffy pastry.
Svetlana Viktorovna decided to teach young girls and young men the secrets of baking fancy bread. They baked curd patties, pies, buns and flatbread. The children mixed ingredients and kneaded the dough by themselves. And when it was the time to decorate buns and pies there was no limit to the fantasy. After cooking they had an improvised tea party.
We are sure that such career guidance projects are very helpful for children. Perhaps, one of the boys and girls is now thinking about choosing the profession of the baker, cook or pastry chef.
The bread machine at the cost of 70,000 tenge and all the products for the master class were purchased with the funds of the Foundation.
