Today the “Competition for the best on-board menu of the flight Astana Taraz “is taking place at the boarding school "Meyirim" for the deaf and hard-of-hearing children. This event has been arranged to coincide with the opening of regular flights between these cities for "Air Astana" Airline Company.
Charitable foundation “AYALA” has collaborated productively with the "Air Astana" Airline Company for a long time. To participate in this competition children have prepared 15 sandwich recipes and also 18 desserts for the airline passengers. The age of the participants varies between 6 and 12 years. At the present time, 153 people at the age from 6 tо 18 living in the boarding school are being taught and brought up there. The jury members were presented by the representatives of the airline company and the charitable foundation, including the Chef of "Air Astana".
The competition winners- 30 young cooks with their teachers – were invited to the guided tour to Astana. The airline company "Air Astana" and the charitable foundation “AYALA” have prepared a two-day excursion and entertaining programme for the children. All participants of the excursion will be provided with accommodations and meals. The trip is scheduled for September 14- 17.
The principal of the boarding school Azata Alkuatovna Nazaralieva said:” Holding of this competitive cooking tender among our foster children could be considered as an interesting challenge to our children; furthermore, the award for winning this contest will be a fascinating trip to the capital of our country- Astana. Since many of our foster children come from low-income and lone-parent families, such prize as the flight on board of the plane of the airline company "Air Astana" will become an unforgettable adventure for our children in ward.
“Each of our new flights is not only an additional route, but also a binding thread between people and cities. We connect kind hearts and give a hand to those who need support. Children with disabilities should not feel at a disadvantage. They do not differ from their peers at all. Our action aims to ensure them that they knew precisely that they are bound to find their level in life. We hope that today’s meeting will mark the beginning of a great friendship”, says Bella Tormysheva, the Vice-President of the Joint-Stock Company "Air Astana".
“Such children’s competition has become one more new form of the charitable activity that we have discovered for ourselves. To help children in ward from boarding schools and foster houses without making any efforts on their part means encouraging their dependency. Yet when children use best endeavours to obtain reward, this develops their leader qualities and the spirit of rivalry” noted the Vice President of Public Relations Zhangeldy Sarsenov.
