Today, the executive director of the British-Kazakh Society (BKS) Gauhar Bramley-Fenton and curator of the republican projects of our foundation Artyom Radaykin have visited and presented gifts to a special (correctional) boarding school №6 of Almaty city for children with intellectual development disabilities.
Let us remember that in the course of The British-Kazakh Society Charity Afternoon Tea which was held last May 22, 2015, 709 500 tenge was collected. The charity foundation "AYALA" allocated this sum of money for the realization of the project "We play and develop." We obtained seven sets of special educational visual aids and methodology "Numikon" for the class lessons at his school. This methodology and set of visual aids were invented in the UK in 1996-1998 to make learning arithmetic easier for children. "Numikon" sets help to develop children's counting skills, logical thinking, to remember the names of the spectrum colors and to develop motor skills.
The children with teachers prepared a few rooms for the guests. Gauhar was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere that prevails in the boarding school. She also noted the high professional level of teachers and personally took part in the dancing flashmob with children.
An executive director of BKS Gauhar Bramley-Fenton offered us to assist in finding the new best practices developed in the UK and provide financial support to our foundation.
