Two orthopedic surgeons from the University Clinic No. 1 (the former Aksay Children's Hospital) Makpal Surashova and Isamdun Kharamov underwent practical training in the Department of Orthopedics of Pusan National University Hospital for two weeks.
Classes with Kazakhstani doctors were conducted by Professor Jung Sub Lee. He is the head of the Spine Center and the head of the Department of Orthopedics of PNUH. Professor Lee has been the Ambassador of AYALA Foundation since October 2018 and conducts numerous free consultations for Kazakhstani children with congenital and acquired orthopedic pathologies during his visits to our country at the invitation of the foundation.
As Isamdun Kharamov noted, within two weeks they have been working very efficiently with colleagues from South Korea. “We saw numerous and various operations on the musculoskeletal system: on the spine, on the hip joint, microoperations on the lower extremities and muscle transplants. Professor Lee's elaborate, verbatim, and understandable explanations helped us a lot to learn new knowledge. Many operations are also conducted in Kazakhstan. This two-week practice will help us bring them to a whole new level thanks to the introduction of modern techniques that we learned at Pusan National University Hospital. And I want to express my gratitude to AYALA Foundation for this opportunity,” Isamdun Kharamov said.
We thank Chevron Company for their help in covering the flight and insurance for our Kazakhstani doctors.
