In Almaty approximately 150 obstetrician-gynecologists, neonatologists and medical nurses of 7 obstetric institutions were solemnly granted with certificates for their participation in the educational seminars of Lithuanian medical specialists. The training courses of the director of neonatal center of Vilnius University, doctor of medical sciences Arunas Lyubshis and nurse Inesa Subotovich were held in the basis of Perinatology and Children’s cardio surgery Center from 7th to 12th of December. Lithuanian medical specialists were invited by the charity foundation “AYALA” and “Chevron” company.
48 hours of intensive practice and theory! Many doctors of Kazakhstan attended the courses of professional development under the guidance of specialists from Lithuania for the first time. A theme of these courses was “Effective help to ill and immature infant child”.
According to the words of the director of Perinatology and Children’s cardio surgery Center Elmira Zhakasheva, the results of such training courses will become well-known at least after half year. However even now Kazakhstan doctors express their full gratitude for giving an opportunity to address to an international expert. Arunas Lyubshis and Inesa Subotovich told about peculiarities of looking after the infants, feeding and treating them, including those infants with extremely low mass of body. Besides, they discussed with the Almaty colleagues the issues about preventive medical measures and treatment of children’s bacterial and fungal sepsis, maintenance of the infant’s normal body temperature and many other matters. Let us remind that last year Arunas Lyubshis visited Almaty perinatal center with the purpose of exchanging experience. In the result of conducting these seminars the medical specialists managed to decrease the infants’ death rate for more than two times.
