Mothers in the Center for Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery in Almaty were presented with woolen sets for premature babies. Kits for babies were knitted with the support of the employees of Chevron, the «AYALA» Charity Foundation and the Threads of Good club.
Currently, 15 premature babies are being monitored at the children intensive care unit and all of them received sets. The average length of stay of babies at the medical institution is from two to three months, depending on their weight and state of health.
In total, 20 sets were delivered to the Center for Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery (socks, a vest, a cap, an octopus, which simulates umbilical cord, and plaid). According to the head of the children intensive care unit Marina Chagay, these gifts are very necessary for kids.
"These kits are a huge help, considering the weather conditions. They stimulate the skin so that children can breathe. Since early 2017 about 400 preterm infants have gone through intensive care. There is still time until the end of the year, we have a stable birthrate, including premature babies," she said.
The «AYALA» Charity Foundation is expressing its gratitude to the employees of Chevron and the Threads of Good club for supporting the project and helping children.
