Premature babies are usually called Twinkletoes. The Perinatal Center of Almaty traditionally celebrated World Prematurity Day.

Children who were born premature at the center over the last few years came to visit the institution on this day. They visited doctors, who nursed them in their infancy to show how strong and healthy they grow now. There was a creative show with entertainers prepared specially for the children.

For the youngest children who were in intensive care under the supervision of doctors, Happy Kingdom clothing store has prepared special sets of clothes. 131 sets were distributed between tiny patients of the Perinatal Center in Almaty, the Center for Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery in Almaty and Almaty Regional Children's Clinical Hospital.

Volunteers from Threads of Good group with the support of AYALA Сharity Foundation knitted 35 sets of natural wool. These sets are designed specifically for premature babies to help them keep warm. This year Almaty craftswomen prepared overall 1,471 sets and 885 octopus toys. They warmed up children in maternity hospitals not only in the southern capital, but also in Petropavlovsk and Esik.
