Today in the Almaty regional orphanage #1 a room of social and household orientation has appeared. Now the children will learn to cook – to bake cakes, stew soup, cook national cuisine such as manty, baursaky, beshparmak. Besides, they will be able to decorate a table, clean kitchen and house, use modern household appliances. Having such skills the children will become more independent.  

At the expense of financial means allocated by Assorti the charity foundation “AYALA” bought kitchen furniture, cooking top, dishes and other household items. The total price amounted to 1 million tenge. The company Samsung Electronics granted for the orphanage a set of household appliances that consists of washing machine, oven, microwave, fridge and vacuum cleaner.

The room was opened with all the trimmings with a red ribbon, “shashu” ceremony and with applauses. Then the most interesting started. The children divided in two teams and under the guidance of chief cooks of the Assorti restaurants they started to cook dishes. Aleksey Taran was keeping track after the children who cut meat and mushrooms for beef stroganoff and Larisa Zhmakina and Natalya Grabovetskaya guided young confectioners who baked tartlets with nuts and “did magic” with a fruits’ salad. At the same time in the kitchen the work was humming in direct and indirect sense, the other pupils read poems that were specially prepared for this event. The journalists attentively watched all ups and downs of this culinary fight and agreed joyfully to be the referees. After the competition all participants and guests tasted the cooked dishes and after the successful degustation the results were announced. The friendship won!
