To these Sunday lessons the pupils of orphanage #1 go with great pleasure and desire. In the cozy room a teacher Anar Aitekenova, concurrently a specialist on teaching and training “Chevron” company’s staff, is already waiting for them. Each lesson with Anar is filled with unusual atmosphere and positive emotions. Here kerchiefs, aprons and all necessary kitchen facilities are prepared for girls. Anar confesses that she likes order and cleanliness in the kitchen and accustoms her wards to it. Today the mistresses have a special menu – appetizing toasts with cheese and delicious dessert Brownie. Rolling up their sleeves the girls share duties. So there after one hour we had our eyes glued on original kitchen masterpieces.

During the working process Anar admitted that the major thing is not only to cook but it is also crucial to share your treat with everybody. By eating with pleasure their self-made toasts and desserts the wards share their dreams with the teacher. Before the lesson each of the girls drew a picture of who they want to become in their adult life. Someone wanted to become a singer, another dreamt of becoming an investigator, there were also future teachers and doctors among the girls. Such meetings in the Almaty orphanage are held once per two weeks, - says Anar Aitkenova. In general, teenagers in the age from 11 to 15 years take part in these meetings.There are many ideas and there is a large number of those children who want to learn how to cook, draw and do craftwork. Therefore a volunteer project of “Chevron” company will be continued for the next 6 months, at least.
