A master class on rugby was held in SOS Children's Village in Almaty. The «AYALA» Charity Foundation and Air Astana airline company organized the sports festival for pupils of the institution.
A professional judge of the national category Yevgeniy Kupreev and a former captain of the Kazakhstan national rugby team Timur Mashurov first told the children about the rules of the game and then demonstrated some moves. After that, 26 children aged 5 to 15 years, divided into two teams and started the contest for victory. According to the rules established by organizers, there were always seven people from two teams on the field, but thanks to the replacement of the players in the match everyone was able to participate. The children were playing for about an hour and the competition ended with a score of 6: 6. Cups and souvenirs were given to everybody.
The former captain of the Kazakhstan national rugby team and a pilot of Air Astana Timur Mashurov noted that all the participants of the match played very well.
"You know, it was funnier to play for older children than for younger kids. All did their best and tried very hard. It would be good to hold such events on a continuous basis. I'm for having training every weekend. Then it can really interest the children," said Timur Mashurov.
The participants of the master class also shared their impressions.
Anya, 13 years old: "Today we had a competition and I scored a goal! This is a very exciting game and I really liked those feelings when you score a goal for your team!"
Grisha, 13 years old: "You have to think in this game. Most of all I liked when you run with a ball and everyone runs into you".
Dinmuhamed, 13 years old: "Today pilots taught us to play rugby. I liked how they explained and liked the game itself. I want them to come to us more often and play with us."
