The World Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics pupils of the Almaty regional orphanage No. 1 celebrated at the training center for pilots and flight attendants of Air Astana airlines.
Each of the twenty children took a seat at the wheel of the plane, took off, made a circle over the takeoff runway and landed. Despite the fact that the girls and boys performed all the maneuvers on the training simulator, they felt as real pilots. As 14-year-old Ilya Frolov told, during the flight he was imagining himself at the wheel of a rescue airliner. "When I got off the ground, I felt incredible. At first I thought, but how I will land? It's scary after all! But with the help of the pilot I managed well. I even imagined that we were flying to America and I'm saving my passengers," the teenager shared proudly.
And 15-year-old Valentina Bashirova dreams of becoming a flight attendant and visiting as many countries as possible. "The pilot's profession is a bit more complicated. To fly the aircraft is not easy. In the future, I plan to be a flight attendant. This is my dream. And the first direction, where I'm flying, will be Dubai. It's very beautiful there! ", Valentina said.
The training process was supervised by the second pilot of the Boeing 757 of Air Astana Chingiz Tasmukanov. He noted that the boys flew more confidently, and the girls - quieter and more smoothly. "The reaction of the children is good and interesting. Especially of the boys, their eyes sparkle. All the children had many questions, and I am very glad that I could help them spark an interest in aviation, " the pilot commented.
The tour was organized in the framework of the project "4D - Let's Do Good Deeds!" of AYALA Charity Fund. The Fund expresses its gratitude to the team of Air Astana for organizing the event.
