Day of smile  is a holiday dedicated to the end of the school year for pupils of all orphanages located in the Almaty and Talgar. The «AYALA» and «DARA» charity foundations since 2008 invented and conduct this holiday. In 2012, the holiday was canceled due to the fire in the «Fantasy World Almaty» park. 

At the end of the school year, children are always experiencing fatigue from a busy school year, and this holiday is designed to help relieve this stress. It is pleasant to note that the holiday has consistently supported the administration of the «Fantasy World Almaty» park, the leading restaurants of the city, Kazakhstan pop artists and numerous sponsors of this traditional holiday.

This year the «AYALA» and «DARA» charity foundations held the holiday for 700 pupils of city orphanages № 1, № 2, specialized «Zhanuya» complex, regional orphanage № 1, SOS Children's Village in Almaty, family-type «Nur» and «Kovcheg» orphanages in Talgar town. This holiday for eight years of its existence became the next stage of education of traditions and culture of philanthropy in our country.      

The «AYALA» and «DARA» charity foundations in their activities always adhere to the principle of effective philanthropy. We do not want to load children from orphanages with gifts of clothes or sweets. Fortunately, our government fully ensures these needs of children who remained for various reasons without parental care. The «Day of smile» holiday is a long-awaited event as for children from orphanages, as for employees of these social institutions.

The concert, which involved the stars of our pop music, attractions and lunch for all participants of the holiday – is a significant event for all.  Employees of the orphanages repeatedly said about the fact that the children are waiting for the holiday and for educators the Day of smile  is an additional day of rest, because after the holiday the children are fast asleep.

This year the «Fantasy World Almaty» park, Samsung Electronics Central Eurasia company, Palladium restaurant complex, Burger King fast food restaurant, Avrora Production Complex LLP - a domestic manufacturer of disinfectants, «Prime Aviation» JSC, KAZ Minerals Bozshakol LLP, «KPMG Audit» LLP and «Almatyelectrotrans» LLP had support the holiday. The budget of the holiday for the «AYALA» foundation amounted 897 608 tenge.

The concert for the guests of the holiday was attended by young stars of Kazakhstan estrade – «Smoking» group, collective of NIKA dance school, DJ Denis, Mysterions group and artists of Almaty State Circus. The permanent master of the holiday show is Alexander Shumsky.

«The Day of smile is held for the eighth year, and its main goal – is not only to please the children in honor of International Children's Day, but also to draw public attention to the need of support children remained without parental care. Despite the fact that the number of orphans annually reduced, the whole society need to make further efforts to each child had a family»,- said Madina Bakiyeva, executive director of the «DARA» foundation.

Zhangeldy Sarsenov, vice president of the «AYALA» charity foundation said: «The Day of smile for the past 8 years has become a good tradition and has turned into a symbol of charity. For years of carrying the holiday we had regular partners such as the «Fantasy World Almaty» park, which for a few hours gratuitously provided us their territory and all attractions. In demand showman Alexander Shumsky always involved in our celebrations as a volunteer. On behalf of the children from orphanages, we thank all those who help us in organizing the holiday».
