Ten social, educational and medical institutions of the capital received equipment from Chevron Company that will facilitate the learning process and everyday life of children and adults with special needs. The summer social programs reach several tens of thousands of residents of Nur-Sultan.
Chevron Company and AYALA Foundation equipped a unique recording studio in the gymnasium school No. 10. It is the only inclusive educational institution in the capital, where since 2005 children with visual impairments study together with everyone, and since 2015 children with complete loss of vision study there too. Of 1,400 students being educated at the boarding school, 200 are children with visual impairments. Here the vocal abilities of the students are actively being developed. And one of the pupils Dilnur Birzhanova became the winner of the 7th season of the X-Factor project. Musical classes are also inclusive; therefore, the students will use the studio together, recording songs, music and even audio books.
302 students with special educational needs related to cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and other diseases study in the boarding school No. 1. Among them there are orphans and children from single-parent and large families. Chevron acquired a sensory room for them. It will help the students to learn to switch attention and develop tactile sensations.
The COMFORT LOGO BFB system for speech disorders correction and prevention was transferred to the rehabilitation center No. 2. Children and adolescents from birth to 18 years old attend the center. Every year over 380 children get the opportunity to undergo rehabilitation and social adaptation programs there.
The office of psychological and pedagogical correction No. 2 received an interactive sandbox from Chevron Company. It will help children with visual impairments, speech and musculoskeletal system disorders and mental retardation to take various developmental courses through tactile and color sensations.
Zhansaya nursery and kindergarten No. 83 for children with speech disorders is an inclusive kindergarten, where children with special speech abilities study with ordinary children. Chevron provided Delpha logopedic simulator and staging probes to help teachers in speech correction classes.
277 children live permanently in Nurly Zhurek center of social services, more than half of them lost their families, and many have group 1 and group 2 disabilities. Thanks to Chevron Company the center now has speech simulators, and the children have the opportunity to undergo speech correction with modern convenient equipment.
10 new medical wheelchairs were transferred to the children's city hospital No. 2. In addition, the MRI room was decorated with vivid pictures with fairytale characters to create a good mood and a positive mindset for recovery in young patients. The multi-field city hospital No. 2 received a new game room from Chevron, and the multi-field regional hospital No. 2 received a game hall.
Public Association of Disabled People "Independent Life "DOS" Center" received funding from Chevron Company for the implementation of the "Technology of unlimited possibilities" project. At the DOS center, it is planned to launch production of an axillary device that allows changing clothes on one’s own and a device for self-supporting opening of window leaves, plastic windows and many other devices necessary for life.
