New equipment presented for the Almaty city perinatal center will rescue hundreds of children’s lifes. A deputy director of the neonatal services’ institution – Nailya Khairullina is sure about it. A device of artificial ventilation of lungs SLE 5000, 5 phototherapy machines and 5 syringe dosage meters were transferred to the Center as a gift from “Chevron” company and “AYALA” foundation. The total cost - 25 650 000 tenge.

According to the specialists’ opinion, at present time the children’s departments are of sharp deficiency of medical equipment. Here only 10 devices of artificial ventilation of lungs, 17 syringe dosage meters and 3 phototherapy lamps are in function. The medical specialists mark that there should be for five times more equipment. In the meanwhile the Center accepts about 8000 childbirths annualy, 15% of which are premature. Thus the provided equipment will improve the situation and the treatment will become more responsive and efficient.
