In Pavlodar hundreds of children’s lives will be saved thanks to the new medical equipment. “AYALA” foundation presented an artificial lung ventilation apparatus and two infusion pumps for medical specialists in the children’s intensive care unit of Pavlodar regional infection hospital. The equipment’s cost amounted to 19 950 000 tenge. Private individuals were the sponsors of this project. Additionally, a part of financial means was collected thanks to the donations which were left in the fund-raising boxes by clients of “Air Astana” airline company and canteen chain “Kaganat” during the whole year.   

According to the words of Pavlodar specialists, about 8 000 patients pass annually through infection hospital, 6 000 of them are children. From these 6 000 children a half of them is admitted to the hospital with the diseases of bronchovascular system, with different complications. From this category of patients about 300 children pass through the intensive care unit, and 20 out of them need to be switched over to the artificial lung ventilation apparatus. It should be noted that the apparatus which was presented by the foundation will allow accepting children with the critical weight from 500 grams.
